A Message from the Orchestra Director

Dear Van Allen Parents,

There will be an informational meeting for parents of prospective Orchestra (violin, viola, cello, and bass) students on Wednesday, September 9th, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., in the Orchestra Room (W107) at North Central Junior High School.

This is a great opportunity to ask questions, learn about the different instruments kids can play, meet the orchestra teacher (me!), and meet other parents.  People have even been known to arrange carpools here.

Interested parents are highly encouraged to attend with their children.

Sincerely,

Mark Awad

6th Grade Fun Fair Basket

Dear 6th Grade Parents,

Our Van Allen Fall Fun Fair is approaching! The Fun Fair helps the school by raising monies to support field trips, visiting authors, art, music and PE programs, and providing extra monetary support to our teachers. The event also builds community through working together towards a common goal — building a better school for our kids! Our families play the starring role making the Fun Fair a success.

This year, the PTO is organizing themed gift baskets by grade for the Silent Auction portion of the Fun Fair. The theme for our 6th graders is RECHARGE & RENEW. We are requesting family donations for these baskets, and have lots of ideas below. If you don’t want to do the shopping, monetary donations (checks made to Van Allen PTO) are appreciated, and would be used by the PTO to purchase appropriate items to add to the basket. You can start sending donations in immediately! However, please send your donations to your child’s classroom by Friday, September 25th.

Every Van Allen Parent is part of the PTO and plays a role in the Fun Fair and the Silent Auction. It’s a fabulous party for our families and their friends to celebrate the school, eat, play games and shop for fantastic goods and services. Parents are what make the Fun Fair a success. Parents donate. Parents set up and decorate. Parents solicit and procure donated items for baskets that make up the backbone of the Silent Auction. Parents come and support the school through their purchases. It’s the party of the year and you don’t want to miss it!

Go Rockets!
Van Allen PTO
